After practically buying out the grocery stores entire selection last night in both fresh and frozen broccoli, I tried fresh raw broccoli for lunch today. It was aprox. 1 cup, a regular broccoli crown. I thought I would try my first day with an exciting dip, so I purchased a "Salsa and Ranch" dip. It wasn't too bad, chunkier than I prefer, and made it hard to scoop on the florets. I felt it was more on the salsa side than ranch, and definitely left me with that onion breath feeling too, so I had to chew gum after. Totaling in 95 calories, 30 for the broccoli, 60 for the ranch salsa and 5 calories for the gum.
I am concerned about the upcoming holidays and being able to stick to eating everyday, hopefully this blog will keep me accountable.
Note: bring dental floss! had I known the green sprouts would greet everyone when I smile, I would have packed a small floss in my purse. very unattractive :/
